Paul Musso is Assistant Professor of Music and Director of the Guitar Program at the University of Colorado Denver. He has been with UC Denver for fifteen years teaching fretboard theory, commercial guitar styles, applied guitar studies, jazz theory, songwriting, improvisation and mentoring a host of guitar ensembles. Paul is a freelance guitarist and has performed throughout Colorado area with many diverse ensembles including the Colorado Symphony, the Boulder Festival Orchestra, the Aspen Music Festival, and the Westcliff Jazz Festival. Paul has performed throughout Europe and the western United States. He is the author of three Mel Bay books for jazz guitar: Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar/Teaching Your Guitar to Walk , Graded Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar Solos and Fingerstyle Jazz Guitar Chord Soloing. Paul is a co-author of Mel Bay’s Master Anthology of Jazz Guitar 2000, where Paul shares the bill with greats Johnny Smith, John Abercrombie, Buckey Pizzarelli, George Van Eps, Andy Summers and many others. His most recent publication, Imporvising With Mini-Arpeggios , will be released in 2012.
