Denman Maroney (b. 1949) is known for his "hyperpiano" style and temporal harmonic system. He has made twenty CDs for such labels as Nuscope, Cryptogramophone, New World, CIMP, Enja, Victo, and Erstwhile with such musicians as Mark Dresser, Matthias Ziegler, Ned Rothenberg, Dave Ballou, Michael Sarin, Kevin Norton, and Earl Howard. He has won grants from Chamber Music America, the NEA, NYSCA, NYFA, ASCAP, Music Omi, Meet the Composer, and Mary Flagler Cary Charitable Trust. He was educated at Yale Summer School of Music & Art (composition fellowship ’74), Cal. Arts (MFA ’74), and Williams (BA ’71). For more information see http://www.denmanmaroney.com.
